Expertise gets people hired. The human side decides what happens next.

Expert Insights brings practical, research-grounded professional development to organizations: leadership and teamwork, well-being and stress, judgment and decision-making, and working well with AI. Our keynotes, workshops and multi-session series are developed and delivered by two professors with extensive teaching and professional development experience, in person anywhere in the U.S. or virtually.

We work with government agencies, school districts, colleges and universities, healthcare organizations, and companies.

Sound familiar?

Situations our sessions are designed to address.

  • A strong performer was promoted and now struggles to lead the people they used to work beside.
  • Meetings get tense, people go quiet, and the real issue never comes up.
  • Staff who serve the public all day are worn down and short with each other.
  • Capable people make rushed decisions under pressure and regret them later.

None of these comes down to knowledge or effort. They come down to how people handle themselves and each other, and those are skills people can practice.

Our approach

Our own teaching method, used for every topic we teach and grounded in research from psychology, leadership and education.

How every Expert Insights session is built Five steps in order: understand the idea, recognize it in yourself, examine a real situation, practice a response, commit to using it. 1 Understand the idea 2 Recognize it in yourself 3 Examine a real situation 4 Practice a response 5 Commit to using it
  • Built around your workplaceBefore each session we adapt the examples and scenarios to your organization, so the practice reflects situations your staff actually face.
  • Practice, not lectureEvery step ends with participants doing something: a self-assessment, a role-play, or a real scenario from their own workplace.
  • A clear takeawayEach participant leaves with a specific plan for applying what they practiced. Your organization receives the evaluation results and a brief summary.

What changes for your team

What participants can do after a session, in their own work, the following week.

  • Stay steady under pressure

Notice a reaction building and choose a response, in a tense meeting or with an upset member of the public.

  • Have the hard conversation

Give difficult feedback, disagree with a supervisor, or address a conflict without damaging the working relationship.

  • Make better calls

Catch the quick judgments that lead decisions astray, and slow down when the stakes are high.

  • Keep people engaged

Understand what actually sustains motivation and well-being at work, and what supervisors can do about it.
